Ian Clinches the title for the second year in succession
The closest qualifying session of the season saw the top five cars lap within 0.095s with Ian a fantastic 10th overall on the grid - only 0.509 seconds slower than overall pole position. This allowed Ian to easily claim the Club Class pole position ahead of Mark Terry in 23rd, a further two seconds slower.
Ian made a good start to the race and initially gained places at the complex on the first lap, what could have been one of Ian's best races of the year was about to go down hill rapidly. A collision with FR2000 Class racer Denis Autier on lap two at the chicane meant Pearson limped into the pits and into retirement with two damaged wheels and damaged suspension while the race continued. "I was absolutely gutted and spen the rest of the race sitting on the pit wall working out the points depending upon where Mark finished" admitted Pearson. "It was a manic weekend with 32 cars on the grid and the race didn't go according to plan from my point of view.
Despite this retirement, Ian's one point for pole position was enough to clinch the title for the second year in succession.
