Ups and Downs at Snetterton
After two excellent qualifying sessions Ian lined up in class pole position for both races & a credible 16th & 14th overall within 1.4 second of the overall pole position.
Unfortunately the Saturday race was over before it started for Ian with an electrical connection to the fuel pump breaking on the warm up lap.
For the 2nd race of the weekend Ian made a good start but actually dropped back a place on the first lap when he was baulked by an FR2000 class car allowing another to come past. Ian was quickly back up to 14th overall & moved up to 13th on lap four finding himself stuck in a gaggle of squabbling & slow lapping FR2000 class cars. By half distance Ian was up to 12th overall & 12 seconds clear of his nearest club class rival but stuck in a bunch of three cars covered by less than 0.6 seconds. Ian would drop one place to 13th before the end of the race but managed to win his class by 22 seconds.
